Day 6: Resting in God’s Timing

“Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for him; do not fret when people succeed in their ways.” – Psalm 37:7

I’ve been in seasons where waiting felt like an unbearable burden. Whether it was waiting for an answer to my prayers, clarity for my next step, or breakthrough in my circumstances, I often found myself asking, God, when will it be my turn?

As women, we face different kinds of waiting. Maybe you’re waiting for your business to grow, praying for a spouse, longing for a breakthrough in your family, or even struggling with unanswered prayers about your children. Whatever the situation, waiting can feel frustrating and endless.

Lessons from Sarah: A Woman Who Waited

Whenever I feel like God is silent, I think of Sarah. She spent years waiting for the promise of a child. In Genesis 15, God promised Abraham descendants as numerous as the stars, yet Sarah remained childless for decades. Like many of us, she struggled with doubt.

Her story is relatable: she tried to take matters into her own hands, thinking her plan (using Hagar to bear a child) might speed up God’s timeline. But as we see in her story, trying to “fix” things outside of God’s will can lead to more pain.

What can we learn from Sarah?

1. God Keeps His Promises: Sarah’s journey shows us that God is faithful, even when the timeline doesn’t match our expectations. At 90 years old, she gave birth to Isaac—proof that nothing is impossible with God.

2. Trust Over Control: Waiting is hard, and the temptation to take control can feel overwhelming. But God’s ways are higher than ours, and trusting Him always leads to better outcomes than we could ever imagine.

3. Joy Comes After the Wait: Sarah laughed when she finally saw the promise fulfilled (Genesis 21:6). The joy that comes after trusting God through the wait is indescribable.

When I lost my father, I begged God for answers and healing for my broken heart. I didn’t understand why He let it happen or why His comfort felt so far away. It took years for me to realize that God wasn’t ignoring me—He was strengthening me.

I learned to trust His timing not just with my grief, but in every area of my life—my career, my children, my dreams. Each moment of waiting brought me closer to Him. Like Sarah, I saw that God wasn’t just preparing blessings for me; He was also preparing me for those blessings.

Lessons for Us Today

Whether you’re waiting for growth in your business, answers for your family, or peace in your relationships, here are some lessons we can take from Sarah’s story and my own journey:

1. Waiting is Refining: God uses the wait to build our faith and prepare us for the blessings ahead.

2. God’s Timing is Perfect: Trusting His timeline often leads to better outcomes than we could have planned ourselves.

3. Surrender Daily: Like Sarah had to let go of her attempts to control the outcome, we must surrender our fears and plans to God, knowing He’s working behind the scenes.

Waiting isn’t easy, but it’s not wasted. Just as God fulfilled His promise to Sarah, He will fulfill His promises to you. Lean into Him during this time, trusting that He is working even when you can’t see it.

A Prayer for Those Who Are Waiting

Heavenly Father,

We come to You weary and burdened by the weight of waiting. Sometimes, the silence feels unbearable, and our faith feels so small. But today, Lord, we choose to lay it all before You.

Teach us to trust in Your perfect timing, even when we don’t understand. Help us to let go of the need to control and to surrender our hearts fully to You. Strengthen us in the waiting, refine our hearts, and remind us of Your promises.

May we see the beauty of Your work, even in the quiet seasons, and find peace in knowing that You are always faithful. Fill us with hope and patience as we rest in the assurance of Your love.

In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.

Rise in faith, ✨ Glow in grace, 🌸 Embrace your God-given worth!

Day 4: Overcoming Depression through Faith

Psalm 34:18 — "The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit." Philippians 4:6-7 — "Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." After the birth of my first child, I faced something I never expected: postpartum depression. It was my first child, and I had no idea what to expect. The physical exhaustion, the emotional rollercoaster, and the overwhelming responsibility left me feeling lost. Coming from a place where mental health struggles are rarely discussed, postpartum depression wasn’t something I could openly talk about. It’s considered taboo, something we sweep under the rug because it’s “ugly.” But I lived it. I felt isolated, even when surrounded by people. I felt misunderstood, like no one truly grasped what I was going through....

Day 5: Finding Hope in God During Hopeless Times

Losing a loved one, especially a parent, can feel like the world is caving in. For me, losing my father in 2014 was a moment that shattered my belief in hope. I prayed fervently, hoping for a miracle, but my father still passed away. I remember feeling so confused, asking God, "Why?" I was hurt, questioning how a loving Father could allow such pain. But looking back, I see that my struggle wasn’t about God’s absence—it was about my own misplaced hope. I had placed my trust in the miracle I wanted to happen, not in the faithfulness of God Himself. Hebrews 11:1 reminds us, "Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see." My hope was misplaced, but through this pain, God showed me that true hope isn’t found in the outcome we desire, but in trusting that He knows what’s best for us. There were years I lived with a lingering sense of doubt, still praying but not fully believing in His goodness. I kept wondering why my prayers weren’...
