Day 7: God’s Grace in Our Weakness

“My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” – 2 Corinthians 12:9

Have you ever felt so overwhelmed that you didn’t know how to keep going? I know I have. Life can be so heavy, and as women, we often carry the weight of our families, careers, and personal battles in silence. But it’s in our weakest moments that God’s grace shines the brightest.

I remember a time when my daughter was unwell, and we couldn’t find answers. She cried endlessly, and I felt exhausted, lost, and helpless. I couldn’t fix her pain or take it away, and I found myself crying out to God, "I can’t do this anymore. Please take over."

It was in that helplessness that I saw God’s grace at work in ways I couldn’t have imagined. When I had no strength left, He gave me just enough to keep going. In our weakness, His power is most evident.

It’s in moments like these—when we feel powerless—that God’s grace becomes most evident.

Hannah’s Lesson: Crying Out in Weakness

Hannah, a woman from the Bible, teaches us a powerful lesson about grace in our weakest moments. She longed for a child, but year after year, she remained barren. She faced ridicule, isolation, and deep sorrow. Instead of letting her pain consume her, Hannah brought her brokenness before God in raw, honest prayer.

Hannah’s plea wasn’t polished or perfect—it was desperate. She prayed so fervently that the priest Eli thought she was drunk. Yet God heard her cries, and in His timing, He answered her prayer, blessing her with her son Samuel.

Hannah’s story reminds us that our weakest moments are not wasted when we bring them to God. Her faith in the midst of her pain is a beautiful example of how God meets us in our struggles.

Paul’s Lesson: God’s Strength in Our Weakness

Paul, in 2 Corinthians, offers another profound example of grace in weakness. He speaks of his “thorn in the flesh,” a struggle that he begged God to remove. But instead of taking it away, God told Paul, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.”

This truth resonates deeply with me. During the days when my daughter was sick and the doctors couldn’t help her, I felt utterly weak. I didn’t have the strength to keep going, but God met me in my brokenness. He reminded me, through prayer and His Word, that I didn’t need to carry it all alone.

Here are three truths about God’s grace that Hannah and Paul’s stories—and my own journey—teach us:

1. Grace Sustains Us: When we feel like we can’t take another step, God’s grace gives us the strength to keep moving forward.

2. Weakness Is a Gateway to His Power: God doesn’t ask us to be strong by ourselves. He invites us to lean on Him so His power can shine through our struggles.

3. Brokenness Can Bring Us Closer to Him: In our lowest moments, we often experience the depth of God’s love and faithfulness in ways we never have before.

If you’re feeling weak today, remember this: God’s grace is enough. He sees your pain, your exhaustion, and your unanswered prayers. Lean on Him, and let His power be made perfect in your weakness.

A Prayer for Strength in Weakness

Heavenly Father,

We come before You today feeling overwhelmed, burdened, and unsure of how to move forward. But Lord, we thank You for Your promise that Your grace is sufficient.

In our weakest moments, remind us to lean on You, knowing that Your power is made perfect in our struggles. Strengthen our hearts, Lord, and fill us with Your peace that surpasses all understanding.

When we feel like giving up, help us to remember that You are with us, carrying us through every trial. Use our stories of weakness to bring glory to Your name and to encourage others.

We surrender our burdens to You, trusting in Your faithfulness and Your unfailing grace.

In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.

Day 4: Overcoming Depression through Faith

Psalm 34:18 — "The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit." Philippians 4:6-7 — "Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." After the birth of my first child, I faced something I never expected: postpartum depression. It was my first child, and I had no idea what to expect. The physical exhaustion, the emotional rollercoaster, and the overwhelming responsibility left me feeling lost. Coming from a place where mental health struggles are rarely discussed, postpartum depression wasn’t something I could openly talk about. It’s considered taboo, something we sweep under the rug because it’s “ugly.” But I lived it. I felt isolated, even when surrounded by people. I felt misunderstood, like no one truly grasped what I was going through....

Day 5: Finding Hope in God During Hopeless Times

Losing a loved one, especially a parent, can feel like the world is caving in. For me, losing my father in 2014 was a moment that shattered my belief in hope. I prayed fervently, hoping for a miracle, but my father still passed away. I remember feeling so confused, asking God, "Why?" I was hurt, questioning how a loving Father could allow such pain. But looking back, I see that my struggle wasn’t about God’s absence—it was about my own misplaced hope. I had placed my trust in the miracle I wanted to happen, not in the faithfulness of God Himself. Hebrews 11:1 reminds us, "Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see." My hope was misplaced, but through this pain, God showed me that true hope isn’t found in the outcome we desire, but in trusting that He knows what’s best for us. There were years I lived with a lingering sense of doubt, still praying but not fully believing in His goodness. I kept wondering why my prayers weren’...
